A Brief History of Our Company

     Welcome to OrnaMentZ^TM!  We are a professional co-op of highly skilled artisans creating the designs of Jeanne Barnett.  Our Company features Individually Hand Made Victorian Christmas Tree Ornaments in all color themes.  Each one is individually handcrafted in the Original Victorian Method, using pearls, lace, velvet, brocade, 24k Gold-washed rondelles and our own custom-blended pearlised pins.

You will not find these ornaments anywhere else.

     Starting in 1992 as a small Delaware cottage business, we have gained popularity in such noteworthy places as Longwood Gardens, Pennsylvania, Village Flower Shoppe of Peddlers Village, New Hope, Pennsylvania, Cassell Wood of Virginia and the Victorian Art Center of Cape May, New Jersey (just to name a few from the early days).  Our ornaments were also selected by the Fashion Square Mall in Charlottesville, Virginia as one of six products to use in their main advertising campaign, but perhaps the greatest achievement in the pre-Internet days was an appearance on National TV (QVC - 1995) with a sellout of 4,500 ornaments in only five minutes!

A Great New Wedding Guest Favor is Born.

     People really love these ornaments - And they are especially loved by Christmas Brides as we found out when we went on-line in 1996 and began to get quantity orders from Brides-to-Be with special requests for personalization and gift packaging so they could use them for their Wedding Guest Favors.  We said "What a great idea!"  So the Wedding Favor Package was created.  The customized package looks simply stunning on the reception tables, and each ornament possesses a giftable, collectible quality unmatched anywhere in the world.  Our Brides often write back to tell us how happy their guests were to receive such a great guest favor!

 We have come a long way. 

     Other very exciting venues since the year of 2001 have been appearances on two HBO specials -- "Sex and the City" in 2003 and the movie "Warm Springs" in 2004 -- a wonderful display in the hardcover book titled "Christmas Style" authored by Dr. Christmas ("The Designers for the Stars!") -- and an appearance in the world famous Smithsonian Institution in 2004 -- not to mention several Corporate Holiday Gift venues such as:  National Banner from Texas in 2003; Jumer's Casino from Illinois in 2004; ExxonMobil of Texas in 2005; and the Quality Inn Skyways of Delaware in 2004 and 2005! 

We are Looking Forward to a Great Future!

     With our recent move in the summer of 2007 to the beautiful mountains of Southwestern Virginia (right in the heart of the Blue Ridge), our new facility is ten times larger than where we were in Wilmington, Delaware.  Although the move proved to be a far greater challenge than we originally anticipated, as of September 2007, we are finally fully settled in and in the process of hiring new Artisans to help create our beautiful ornament designs.  Many of the other projects that we have dreamed about, such as original handcrafted hatbox designs, personalized trinket boxes, Swarovski Crystal Orna Mentz, and many new and exciting options for your Victorian Wall Decor are coming in 2008, along with a website photo gallery of our new home!  Thank you so much for visiting, and best wishes for a blessed and wonderful 2007 Christmas Season!
